All eyes are focused nowadays to Greece’s (and the rest of PIGS) debt crisis. The output of the effort to cope with the debt crisis will decide if the dream that is European Union will complete or it will be lost forever.
At these turbulent times, we should never rule out any options. Particularly if an option to solve the problem is readily at hand. And such an option is the exploitation of the rich, undersea, oil and natural gas fields of Greece!
At this point, the majority of the readers will start wondering: “where are those oilfields?” The majority lies, alas, in the Aegean Sea, within what is Greece’s Exclusive Zone of Economic Exploitation. But Turkey is bullying Greece whenever it tries to even think of exploiting what is rightfully ours. The recent example with Cyprus, where Turkey, whose claim until now was the existence of two distinct states in the island, threatened a sovereign nation against exploiting its own resources. Worst of all, Turkey did so in the area Southern of Cyprus where neither it nor its illegally occupied Northern Cyprus has any rights. It took a lot of courage on the part of Cyprus and a lot of cunning (the idea to give exploitation rights to Israel, the only nation in S/E Mediterranean able to stand-up against Turkey and also promise future rights to Russia) to avoid the threats.
According to all estimates, the natural gas depot of Cyprus is of a net worth higher than 100 billion USD! But the undersea oilfields and natural gas depots of Greece worth much higher! For example, there is a small, deserted island, within 5,5 nautical miles from Greek Thasos (and more than 15 miles away from the Turkish coast…), named Xourafa or Ladoxera, where oil flows reportedly since the 19th century! Also there are extended natural gas depots south of Crete as well as in the area between Kastelorizo and Cyprus. All this is rightfully Greek and subsequently is the solution to EUs energy independence. But there is a rival, to whom int’l laws, ethic or reason have no meaning: Turkey
Ø Turkey has an active casus belli threat against Greece if the last exercises its legal right to expand its sea frontiers from 6 to more nautical miles – the internationally accepted norm is 12 miles, and Turkey expanded to 12 miles its own frontiers in the Black Sea…
Ø Turkey claims, against all int’l laws and jurisdiction, that the Greek inhabited islands have no exploitation rights or even sea borders – and then claims exploitation rights and sea borders for some uninhabited rocks in between the Greek islands, which they claim remained Turkish after the fall of the despicable Ottoman Empire by the end of WWI.
Ø Turkey claims rights to the S/E Mediterranean, whereas the Greek Islands simply circle its coastline, allowing for no rights to the rest of the sea.
Ø Turkey putted pressure on Albania, Egypt and Libya to not acknowledge the Greek Exclusive Zone of Economic Exploitation, in order to avoid what may be considered as a fait accompli.
Ø And Turkey claims the regulations governing Exclusive Zone of Economic Exploitation do not apply in the Aegean sea because it is a closed sea – and then it takes advantage of the same legislation to claim rights in the Black Sea, one of the most closed seas in the world!!!
On the other hand, Greece had an unprecedented series of governors lacking any vision, patriotism or courage. Actually we can easily say we have been governed by coward, selfish traitors for the largest part of the last 30 years. Imagine that they even blocked any research for hydrocarbonates for more than 15 years!!! What can be achieved by a visionary, courageous leader, can be easily seen in the case of Cyprus: by effectively allying with anybody kind enough to be Turkey’s enemy, Cyprus, already brutally savaged by the Turks back in the 70s and still under occupation of its 30%, succeeded in starting up the exploitation of its own resources.
The case of Greece looks simpler: if Turkey has any claims let her take them to the int’l courts (Turks don’t like the idea, since they will probably lose and being predators by nature they don’t want their prey taken from them). If Turkey wants to play rough, let her face the united forces of EU (unfortunately EUs solidarity stopped at Greece’s borders – the constitutional statement of EU’s EuroArmy excludes Greece’s borders with Turkey from any protection!!!).
The case strongly resembles the situation during Hitler’s first moves before WWII. The Int’l community watches in awe as Turkey acts as a bully towards Greece, Cyprus, Armenia, Iraq, Syria, or against the poor Kurds (the 20 millions indigenous under strong oppression whom they name terrorists for simply asking what is rightfully theirs – their independence, firstly given to them after the demission of Ottoman Empire). Worst of all, Turkey emerges as the natural leader-protector of all Turkish origin nationalities in Asia (from China’s Uigurs to Iraq’s Turkomans) and also of the so-called oppressed Muslims (!!!). Tayip Erdogan and his pack of wolves, simply imitate Hitler’s moves: they even started-up a fight against Israel.
But Turkey also destroys Greece via two other ways: by flooding Greece with illegal immigrants and by direct sabotage!!!
- Flood of Illegal Immigrants
Against all int’l treaties, signed by her governors, Turkey floods Greece with, mainly muslim, illegal immigrants!!! More than 150.000 illegal immigrants pass annually the borders, actively helped by Turkish authorities. Actually the Constantinople Airport operates as a non-stop station where illegal immigrants are packed into vans and directly moved to the borders. The mentioned crime against Greece, EU and humanity was planned decades ago when Turgut Ozal, then President of Turkey, in a speech addressing their National Assembly, mentioned: “We will never have to fight against Greece, we will simply burry it under millions of Muslim Immigrants”!!!
According to al EU estimates, the Turkish economy gained more than 30 Billions Euros by this modern Slave Trading!!! Worse of all, Turkey gets subsidies from EU to stop the Immigration flood, but instead it actually encourages it!!! And, needless to say, Turkey rarely accepts back the illegals “passed” to Greece, against all treaties signed…
The annual cost of the Greek economy from the illegal immigrants and the gypsies surpasses 10 Billions euros!!! Since the whole debt amounts to 130 billions, you can easily see that the cut-down of those expenses can by itself save Greece…
- Direct Sabotage
It was well known within some circles in Greece, but a couple of months ago, even Turkey’s ex-President Mesout Yilmaz admitted it: the Turkish secret services were responsible for large scale arsening of Greek forests!!! In an effort to sabotage our tourism and economy, Turkish agents putted on fire large areas of Greece during late 90s and 2000s, as stated by their own head of state!!!!
If the above sound frightening and you are convinced, put pressure on your governments and representatives: stop Turkey from threating Greece (or anybody else), oblige the rest of states (Egypt, Libya, Albania) to recognize int’l laws and allow Greece to exploit what is rightfully ours since the beginning of time: the Aegean sea!!! Otherwise, after Greece’s fall, the Turks will become a stronger menace for int’l peace and the humanity will suffer!!
